By exploring the techniques and styles of these legendary Surrealists, students will not only build technical skills but also discover how to channel imagination into captivating creations. These lessons will prepare them to produce meaningful artworks that stand out in portfolios or exhibitions, reflecting the innovative spirit celebrated in Surrealism. This term, our young artists will embark on an imaginative journey into Surrealism and Dreamscapes, exploring the wild, dream-like worlds of some of the most iconic artists in history. Surrealism invites children and teenagers to break free from reality and create impossible scenes—think melting clocks, floating elephants, and raining bowler-hat men—that spark wonder and self-expression. It is designed for one year and consists of four levels (10 lessons per level) and 27 software projects. Students learn the basics of text-based coding using Processing, a simplified version of Java. Students develop a variety of 2D and 3D digital art animations, apps and games. This course covers the key computer science concepts such as functions, loops, if statements, variables, lists, booleans, recursive algorithms, Object Oriented Programming, and how these concepts are used in Java. Students use an online programming environment Openprocessing.org, allowing them to advance their coding skills outside their classroom. Highly recommended to those who enjoy digital art and video games.

During each art class the tutor will spend one on one time with your child to ensure skills and ideas are understood and improved. At Atelier 22, we offer a range of art classes and activities for kids and teens (in primary and secondary schools). Our activities range from drawing, painting, printing, collage, mixed media and modelling.

Scratch Beginner coding course is ideal for Primary school students from Grade 2 to Grade 6 with no coding experience. Jan teaches acrylics, oils, pastels, watercolor, traditional,  contemporary, abstract and modern. She is experienced, well known and her students get results.

My friend and I had a lovely time learning to paint the sunflowers painting. We also have lots of useful tips for parents on the subject of painting, drawing, crafting, and other forms of art they can try with their kids at home. We accept a maximum of eight children per class to allow close supervision on their art projects and activities.
We understand that sometimes children may need to miss a class in our kids art programs due to illness or other commitments. While we always do our best to help, please note that due to high demand and limited studio capacity, our policy is that we do not guarantee a make-up class will be available. By studying these artists, students will learn to infuse their own artworks with creativity, humor, and emotional depth. Students are prepared with the skills that they need now, and in the future. Tutors may ask students to bring in additional items from home such as photographs. This activity helps kids strike a perfect balance between being persuasive about a given topic & being tolerant & respectful towards opposing point of views. All of the classes that are specifically for children are age appropriate and designed with their skill level in mind. There are always tutors available to help where things can be a little tricky, and all art projects and workshops will have aspects within it that provide a bit of challenge.
