Psychological counseling refers to the treatment of mental disorders by psychologists. The main objective of psychological counseling is to assist clients in identifying the origin of their problems so that they can overcome it and live normally. Psychological counseling is also referred to as psychotherapy. It is conducted with the intent of understanding a client’s issues and developing solutions for them. A client will work with a psychologist together with their doctor to determine which type of psychological counseling is best for them. A session often lasts several months, and counselors provide regular sessions along with weekly, if necessary, progress reports.

We seek to provide affordable and accessible counseling to individuals in the Central Kentucky Area. A person’s ethical health refers to his – or her – moral compass and moral integrity. Many people refer to this part of one’s health as one’s ‘moral code.’ It refers to one’s thoughts about what is ethical and what is not ethical based on personal values and beliefs. When someone has poor ethical health, he – or she – may lack compassion for others or be a bully himself. People with good ethical health recognize the harm they cause to others when they act immorally. When people have poor ethical health, they often suffer from low self-worth and attribute their poor behavior to being a bad person instead of recognizing that they are lacking in moral integrity.

After working as a mechanic, carpenter, coal miner, and instructor for the Dept. of the Military, I was introduced to the mental health field. I started volunteering at an addiction recovery house and found myself intrigued about the success of individuals after recovery; some moved on to working in the field that saved their lives. During this time, I was motivated to learn about mental health and how I could get involved. I decided to attend Lindsey Wilson College where I would spend the next several years earning my master’s degree. I have been working with individuals and families in crisis for over 20 years.
These have a moving light that you follow with your eyes in place of your healthcare provider’s hand. Other devices might use sound, where speakers on either side of your body play tones. During this phase, your healthcare provider will have you focus on the positive belief you want to build in as you process a memory. This positive belief can be what you said in phase 3 or  something new you think of during phase 4.

My husband serves in the military and I am also a mother. I help with administrative tasks and behind the scene tasks. When I am not in the counseling room, I enjoy being home with a good book and a cup of coffee and spending time with my family. In addition to counseling, Dave is also the head football coach at Woodford Co Middle School, and lives in Versailles with his wife Melissa, and their three children, Zia, Buan, and Corbin. I currently provide therapeutic support to local human trafficking agency.
Remember that discomfort is growth, and I am here to walk alongside you in your journey. I reside in East Tennessee and provide medication management and brief, person-centered psychotherapy services through telemedicine for the patients of Lionheart Trauma Support Services. I have been a registered nurse for the last eight years and have been an advanced practice nurse for almost four of those eight. I started my nursing career in the emergency department where I discovered I would much rather listen to a patient’s story than seek out an adrenaline rush; thus, my love for psychiatry was born. I have a strong background in relationships research and prioritize evidence-based therapeutic approaches that address the complex and unique needs of individuals, couples, and families.
