Piven told her to meet him at his hotel, but when she arrived she was told by the front desk to go up to his room because he wasn’t ready. She said she didn’t think much of it because “he was a nice enough guy.” . BuzzFeed News also spoke to eight people who said the women shared their stories with them either at the time or in the years since. In 1985, a background actor said Piven followed her into a trailer on the set of a film and pinned her down on a couch. In 1996, a background extra on the set of Ellen said a romantic encounter with Piven turned physically aggressive and left her feeling threatened, after he  exposed himself to her in his Los Angeles home.

This TV show was,  sadly, cut short and only aired 13 episodes. To a stand-up comic, someone who’s only been doing it a few years is still like an infant. I’ve been improvising in all my 70 movies and TV shows.
And I saw Othello with an actor named Rory Kinnear playing Iago, which just blew me away. It’s a constant inspiration for me,” Piven explains. While McCain Olson told people in her private life about the incident, she also said that she didn’t publicly discuss what Piven did to her as she felt the culture around how women dealt with sexual harassment was vastly different in the 1980s. She said it was “almost expected you’d have to fight somebody off” at some point, and that she didn’t have the language or understanding to describe the incident.

The movie is Piven’s second theatrical release since he was accused by a number of women of past sexual misconduct, which he has vehemently denied. If Piven’s Ari Gold was played in primary colors, his Selfridge is painted in shades of gray. This film follows the story of Mick, played by Jeremy Piven, who is called home for a family emergency.
Chicago was also were he met his wife, Rosalie ‘Rose’ Buckingham. Marshall Field’s was started in 1852 and lasted all the way until 2005, when it was acquired by Macy’s. In the late 1800s, Selfridge played a major role in the success of that department store. He worked there for 25 years in total, and became a junior partner in the company. “He asked Marshall Field’s if he could have his name above the door – Marshall Field’s & Selfridges – and they respectfully declined,” says Piven.
There are certain actors who are indelibly linked to one role in their career. Daniel Radcliffe is otherwise known as Harry Potter. "I think you're always dancing  with—and without—balance your whole life. And as you get older, you begin to realize how important balance is." How does the fact that Ari Gold, your character on Entourage , is based on a real individual affect the way you play the part? The goods can refer to what you bring to the table as a salesman — you know, "Do you have the goods?" My character is named Don Ready because he has what it takes to make the sale, to live the dream.

I came from being with my mother and giving back to the theatre. I find it an honor that people think that I’m like that character because that means whatever I created was authentic, but the people who know me know that’s completely not the real me. I’m playing Harry Selfridge right now, a character who’s incredibly flamboyant, larger than life and is so fun to play. I look forward to being mistaken for Mr. Selfridge shortly as well. I have yet to play a character that’s close to who I am.
Laura Loftus, a childhood friend of McCain Olson's, told BuzzFeed News that McCain Olson called her after the incident occurred in 1985 and told her what Piven did. Another friend, who asked to remain anonymous, also told BuzzFeed News that McCain Olson brought the incident up to her when they first became friends about 15 years ago. Another close friend, who also asked to remain anonymous, told BuzzFeed News that McCain Olson told her about the incident three years ago when sexual assault allegations against Bill Cosby were reported.

Piven and John Cusack were close friends from an early age, and at the age of eight Piven made his stage debut alongside his pal in a Chekhov play. "People always say, 'Wasn't it weird growing up in an acting family?'" Piven  recounted to Bob Strauss, writer for the Los Angeles Daily News. "I think any other experience would've been weird…. I just assumed that everyone had a theater that they could go to, where they could improvise, do short stories, Chekhov, Salinger."
The very essence of life is creation, and in a time when consumption is the primary hand, having creators who constantly push the boundaries of their potential will not only encourage you but inspire you. At the end of the day, although Ari was a hell of a character who no doubt entertained us on screen, it goes without saying that to hold yourself at such caliber in the real world is uncharacteristic of a gentleman, leader, and gamechanger. In contrast, Jeremy Piven is the humble, well-rounded and fiercely driven antithesis of anything and everything Ari Gold. Wrestling fans are some of the most hardcore fans you will ever meet. But sometimes they judge to harshly, which is what we are seeing here with Piven. He didn't have long to develop his heel character, so he is not going to be considered the best heel in history or anything, but for a host to turn heel is hard because you don't have long to make him a full fledged one.

With Harry Selfridge, there was no recording of his voice and there’s actually images of him, but not much to go on. It's just being from Chicago and being at Marshall Field's growing up in a store where he had started back in the day and reading up on him and doing my research on him, we tried to get as specific as we could about his character. No one is a devil in their own story, no matter how anyone sees the character. Even he is a bad guy, he is never played as a bad guy.
Sadly, none of this happens, because—as Piven will be the first to tell you—he really isn't the loathsome but lovable character that won him 3 Emmys and one Golden Globe . "I like Ari," Piven says, "but no, I'm not that guy." Nor is he entirely the outrageous party boy he plays in the tabloids. That said, Jeremy, Ari, and the Pivert all do share a certain mischievous, shit-eating grin and edgy charm. Recently, Wisdom of the Crowd was pulled off the air due to the many sexual misconduct allegations that Jeremy Piven has received.
