Blepharoplasty may be performed on almost any adult in good health, but patients with certain medical conditions affecting the eyes and vision, such as glaucoma, may be advised to forego this procedure. Also note that blepharoplasty removes excess skin from the eyelids, but does not eliminate wrinkles and “crows feet” at the corners of the eyes. In order to treat other concerns, blepharoplasty may be performed in combination with a brow liftor other facial procedures. If you feel that your vision may be impaired by droopy upper lids, your eye doctor can perform visual field testing to see if you may qualify for blepharoplasty.
